Non-exhibited

collections

There are considerable non-exhibited collections in the Zoology Museum, including individuals of all the major zoological groups, conserved either dry or in liquid (alcohol or formalin), naturalised or as skeletons.

When considering the number of specimens, birds dominate the collection, followed by reptiles, fish, molluscs, insects, crustaceans and other invertebrates. To these are added the preparations of vertebrates and invertebrates on microscope slides.

All this material is available for scientific taxonomic or faunistic research.
