Invertebrates’ Room

The display cabinets in this room invite the visitor to discover the diversity of the Invertebrates (animals lacking a spinal column) that populate our planet. You will find a complete series of animals such as sponges, medusa, corals, molluscs, echinoderms (sea urchins, starfish) and arthropods from around the world.

When considering number of species and individuals, arthropods are the group best represented in the animal kingdom. They include invertebrates whose body and appendages are covered by a hard cuticle that constitutes their external skeleton. Insects, spiders, scorpions, millipedes and crustaceans are all a part of this group.

Living corals, sponges and sea anemones can be found in several tanks in the Aquarium.
